Amazing and Wonderful Things...

Yep, it's been another while since I last posted. I've been using my Twitter a little more. I use it for sharing things, as well as putting up whatever little blurb comes to mind. And, I use it a lot to interact with my favorite people on YouTube. Also, if you choose to look, you'll see the awesome stained glass cat vase I got from one of my friends! It's so beautiful!
BTW I don't think I showed this amusing thing I did with one of Jacob Fu's instagram pics on here, so here it is!

He liked the pic enough to retweet it, shortly after I tweeted it to him.
Before I move onto more about these awesome people, I'll mention a little update about how I'm doing at work. Last weekend turned out really good for me! I've sold a bunch of books, including the Americana Encyclopedia set that was so big. I'm so glad someone finally bought that! Almost no one buys encyclopedia sets these days. I received this large 30 book set as a donation weeks ago. I'm glad I decided to make some space for it.
The hostas outside, a few at a time, have been flowering. I've taken pictures when that's happened. Some of them are already on my website's art gallery page.
I even took a picture of one of the Asian day lilies while it was raining outside. :)
I still (of course) do boardgaming every Friday night. Every other Friday it's with our friends at the High Tides game store in St. Mary's County. We hope we can have enough space for everyone that comes over! Lately, the owner has moved in some display cases into the room we play in. There have been some new semi-regulars coming around, and we've had more 10+ people show up altogether during the past few weeks. High Tides have been good to us for a long while now, and we'd hate to have to find a new place again. The 6 core members of us (including my mom and myself) were told to leave the last place and never come back. Basically, the owner had acted like a passive snob around us because I brought in a cup from Subway.
Whatever--all the better to have found a better place where no one flips out about things like bringing along games that aren't already selling in the shop. No one flips out about anyone bringing in food and drinks from other places either. The staff at High Tides have been open and laid back about both of those things.
Because of these reasons, I'd hate to have to change locations again...
Over the past few weeks, I've done some really chill instrumentals. The following is my latest one!
Hoping to insert more music like this and probably jazzy stuff as well into the background once I get back to vlogging more!
2 weeks ago, I started collaborating with one of my musician buddies I know from NewGrounds and SoundCloud. He's really good, and I was surprised when he asked me if I wanted to collab. I replied. "We can try!" So far it's been both interesting and challenging. If I can remember to find the kind of sample I want to insert along with his awesome intro sample, then I can do more in contribution towards this!
Now, finally... I know I've posted about Ryan Higa (nigahiga @ YouTube) before. I can't get over how incredibly awesome, adorable, and sweet he is. He's pretty much my most favorite person on YouTube ever. Especially when I found out he has an account on SoundCloud, two weeks ago. I'm really positive it is really him and NOT someone posing as him--many of Ryan's other lamps respect him enough to not even think about impersonating him.
If this had been someone impersonating/trolling as him, I would have been able to tell. I would have found out. Also, Ryan would have let me know via Twitter if he didn't have an account on the site.
So, with all this into consideration, guess what?!

Ryan's following me back! <3 8D As soon as I noticed that he did, I took that screencap, lol, and couldn't stop smiling for 2 minutes. Also, I sent him a thank you message and got a reply!

This is huge! Of course, whenever he has any spare time and happens to visit SoundCloud again, he could check out my stuff if he'd like. XD I'm sure he'll notice my remix of the Mortal Kombat Techno Syndrome. I know he's familiar with the original version. He's used parts of it in two of his videos; "How to Be Ninja", and "My First Minecraft Experience".
I know it won't be until someone I know and trust can take over for me at my bookshop if there were any opportunities to travel out of state to go to and event and meet him, Josh Fu of FuMusic, and the rest of RHPC. I don't even get much vacation time either, year after year. So, for now, I consider them all to be online friends. They're all people I'd get along pretty well with. :) I'm going to be sending them a lengthy letter and some various pics (including a selfie) to snail mail to them. They have a Las Vegas P.O. box open to all their lamps.
They even do a mail series (Teehee Time) in which they show themselves opening their lamp-mail. Some of the gifts they've received have been hilarious; including a yodeling flamingo plush, a talking kangaroo toy, a Bop-it, and weird mask stuff! XD I don't really have anything like that to give them, but I can share mini-stories about myself, pics, and address them altogether as a group, and then towards them individually.
I think this packet will definitely be at least 10 pages long. In currently writing to them, I'm on page 7 and haven't addressed them all individually yet. I've covered them altogether first. In order I've finished typing to the following people, in order: Josh Fu, Ryan Higa, Derrick Dereleek and Mary Eriika, and Sean Fujiyoshi. I'm almost done on the segment towards Sean. Greg Slopsmcgee, Greg's GF Daina, and Will Shayan are all who is left before I get around to the ending.
I doubt I'll get anything back from them. IDK, maybe on a future Teehee time episode Will might say, "The longest letter we've ever received with photos, website links, and computer screenshot picture award goes to Marianne." XD I won't get my hopes high about that. Mailing the letter and stuff off to them is what really matters after all. Getting anything from them in return would just be a bonus.

Date: 2015-08-11 04:16 pm (UTC)Hurrah on clearing out some space by selling the encyclopedia! Dictionary sales seem like they're going through a similar decline. (One of my friends lent me a German dictionary for my reading exam, and she said the only condition was that I keep it when I was done, lol.)
